West of the town there is an artificial basin developed in 1960 for agricultural purposes. In the years this basin has become for the residents and tourists, the Mattarana Lake, or simply "The Lake".

On the waterfront, submerged in the green pines, one can enjoy the splendid view of the Apuane Alps.

If one once to spend few relaxing hours, in the company of a good book or with some friends the lake is the ideal place to do this.
